Ms. Onchee Yu received a master degree from the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Washington. She has been a biostatistician at Group Health Research Institute since 1999 and has extensive experience analyzing large datasets and complicated healthcare automated data. The scientific research areas that she has been involved in including studies of vaccine safety, breast cancer prevention and treatment, pharmocoepidemiology, and women’s health. In the recent years, she has developed interest in the data mining area and has used CART and automated healthcare data to develop algorithms for identifying several different outcomes. These outcomes included hospitalized community–acquired pneumonia, ectopic pregnancy, pelvic inflammatory disease, malunion and nonunion (results of fractures), and second breast cancer events.
